Ultimate High Aerobatics competition for Beginners Kemble Weds 19th July 2006.
Following on from the success of last year's Aerobatic Competition for Beginners, Ultimate High will be hosting another event for pilots at AOPA Aerobatics Certificate level or similar at Kemble on Wednesday 19th July.
Designed to encourage those who have not already flown any formal competition aerobatics, this event will allow pilots to be guided through a typical Beginners event in a relaxed and friendly environment. Last year 10 student aerobatic pilots flew the Beginner's sequence twice each, with a detailed debrief and tips from aerobatic instructors and a top judge over a buffet lunch.
Competitors can either fly with a safety pilot (UH will make Instructors available) or can fly solo subject to normal signoffs. Aircraft used will primarily be UH Bulldogs, although other aircraft will also be allowed to enter. A number of last year's entrants have now gone on to fly in full BAeA competitions.
The format has been viewed as highly successful and has been adapted by the BAeA for their 'Classic Aircraft Event', to be held this Saturday 17th June at Leicester (http://www.aerobatics.org.uk/sites/regclassicevent06.htm). The day will commence with a pilot briefing on the sequence to be flown, the 2006 BAeA Beginner's sequence, and will focus on how the judges will score the individual manoeuvres and the sequence as a whole. This will include discussion around use of the Competition Display Box and adjustments for wind, as well as the practicalities of scheduling take-offs, holding off, start/end of the competition sequence and landing afterwards. Advice on the sequence can be found at www.aerobatics.org.uk/judging/judging-example.htm. The event will take place at Kemble and will be flown in the overhead, with scoring from ground-based judges and constructive feedback from competition aerobatic pilots. Pilots will fly a scored morning sequence, receive feedback, and then fly a scored afternoon sequence. Prizes will be awarded for best sequence and most improved pilot. Places are limited so enquiries quickly please to . |

| Flying the Press / TV Filming:
Our display pilots are extremely experienced in operating and dealing with the media as we often work closely with producers to create bespoke programmes. We have worked directly with many TV companies including the BBC, ITV (various channels), Nickelodeon, Nuts TV others.
We have on-board digital video recorders with camera mounts on the wings, nose, cockpit and tail-fin of the aircraft. The performance and agility of the Extra300 aircraft makes this a superb camera ship.
For newspapers, in the run up to an event, we can offer advance photo-news stories to all your local media. If required, we can also arrange press flying, including broadcast quality video that can be used directly by TV.
We can offer prizes which can be flown at our Advanced Flying Training Academy at Kemble.
