Clarkey learnt to fly on the Bulldog with Yorkshire University Air Squadron. After training on the Tucano and Hawk, he flew the Tornado F3 on 43(F) Squadron. His operational tours have included patrolling the Iraq no-fly zone and flying with Leuchars Fighter Wing during the 2003 Iraq War.
He has also served as a Qualified Flying Instructor on the Grob Tutor and flown the Hawk as an Air Combat Leader with 100 Sqn.
Clarkey currently flies the Falcon 900 corporate jet as a day job. |
