Another refugee from the Fleet Air Arm, Malc was fortunate (and crazy!) enough to fly fighters from Aircraft Carriers including the Eagle and the Ark Royal, Britain's largest carrier. He initially saw front line service in the Sea Vixen and later flew the Spey engined McDonnell Douglas F4 Phantom.
Malc graduated from the Empire Test Pilot School at Boscombe Down and his main project as Test Pilot was the development of the ski jump for the Harrier, which has now been adapted by all modern STOL carriers.
An A2 instructor with massive aerobatics experience, Malc also captains airliners.
