Nouj joined the RAF in 1983. He did a short time on Lightnings before serving on 74(F) Sqn flying Phantoms.  After F4s Nouj became an instructor on Tucano.  He then went to Chivenor instructing on 92 Sqn Hawks, both in air combat and weapons.  Latterly, Nouj flew on 100 and 19 Sqn before leaving the RAF to join the airlines.

As well as RAF flying, Nouj ran an aerobatic display team for 3 years and spent 9 years display flying warbirds, including the Corsair, Mustang, Sea Fury and Spitfire.  He and his wife Anna have spent the last few years building their own RV7 aircraft. In Spring 2010 he is due to be flying the return trip from London to Cape Town, South Africa, in an attempt to break Alex Henshaw's 71 year old world record.  For more information see www.capechallenge.com.
