TOP GUN AIR COMBAT MISSION

Fly an Air Combat Mission and Aerobatics against your opponent aircraft – yourself! Your ex-military flying instructor will demonstrate a formation take-off and close formation flying in the T67 Firefly aircraft. Flying close to another aircraft, you fly some aerobatic manoeuvres to acclimatise you to the g-force, and then you will be introduced to tailchasing and air combat against your opponent.

Manoeuvre your aeroplane to get on the bad guy’s tail. Once you’re in a firing position, call the shot – “GUNS GUNS GUNS!!”. If you’re successful in shooting down the bandit, then it’s an obligatory cheer of “Yeehah, Jester’s dead” and back to the airfield for a flyby of the tower – assuming, of course, that the pattern is not full…!

This combat mission is not a simulator and is not available anywhere else in the UK!

Prices

£695 for 1 person on a weekday (Thursdays and Fridays only)
£795 for 1 person on a Saturday
£1,195 for 2 people on a weekday (Monday-Thursday only) – saving of £195. Top Gun pairs bookings are not generally available on Fridays.
£1,395 for 2 people on a Saturday (£195 saving).

Availability

Flights take place late March-October inclusive, other than on Bank Holiday weekends and Sundays (subject to weather and airfield conditions).

SINGLETON BOOKINGS take place on Thursdays and Fridays or Saturdays (at additional cost). On these days we match you up with an opponent.

PAIRS BOOKINGS take place Monday-Thursday inclusive (or Saturdays at additional cost). Pairs bookings are not available on Fridays.

Arrival

You should allow to be with us between 2.5 and 3.5 hours.

You and your opponent(s) will be kitted out in high quality military flying suits. You then choose your call-sign name badge (“Maverick”, “Iceman” etc) for the day.

At the briefing, you will be taught how to fly aerobatics and air combat manoeuvres. The briefing includes a detailed safety/parachute brief.

You are then ‘ready to walk; and will be matched into Top Gun “pairs” with your “opponent” guest.

At the aircraft, you will strap on your parachute and be shown the cockpit controls and receive another safety brief.

The flight

You sit side-by-side with your instructor.
Formation take-off (2 aircraft)
Formation close manoeuvrering in the climb
Learn effects of aircraft controls and aerobatics manoeuvres
Time for an air combat mission against your opponent – shoot the bad guy!
Return to Base – fighter pilot rejoin to land.
Time in the aircraft is around 40 minutes (25 minutes in the air)

AFTER Landing

Following the completion of your air combat mission, wxit aircraft and talk about how great you were!

Debrief and review of your air combat results with your instructor, who will issue your flight certificate, including amount of G-force pulled and no. “kills”.

There will be an opportunity to purchase a 360 degree video of your flight.
